Integrated Somatic Regulation

For mental health practitioners who work with clients with extensive trauma histories, we offer training in Integrated Somatic Regulation™ (ISR)—a new approach to treating trauma safely and effectively. This body-based trauma therapy, originally developed by Dr. Matthew Vasquez, is grounded in the latest science on the physiological effects of trauma and integrates multiple techniques from various trauma and body-based therapeutic modalities.

ISR is especially effective for clients with extensive trauma, poor regulatory abilities, or those who appear to be treatment resistant. The approach works by utilizing a comprehensive array of body-based stabilization skills to help clients maintain regulated states, processing trauma in small fragments, and enhancing somatic resilience (power) in the body. This methodology was developed through clinical practice with highly traumatized individuals, extensive review of the latest research, and collaboration with top trauma experts in the field.

The training consists of two full-day foundational workshops, a follow-up advanced skills workshop, and 12 hours of either individual or group consultation. No prior clinical trauma training is required for attendance.

In-Patient and Residential Settings

In-patient settings typically work with populations who have been exposed to incredibly high rates of stress, adversity, and trauma. We are uniquely equipped to provide expert training to in-patient and residential treatment centers, dramatically increasing overall safety for both staff and residents through the adoption of deeply integrated trauma-informed practices. We can provide advanced consultation and clinical support for clients with the most severe trauma histories, including long-term developmental trauma, complex trauma, attachment disorders, dissociation, dissociative identity disorder, psychosis, self-harming behavior, and substance abuse/addiction.

If your organization serves primarily out-of-home children and their families, our partners at the Institute for Quality Children’s Services at Florida State University can provide additional services, such as evidenced-based comprehensive evaluations on standards of practice, along with recommendations and training to ensure your organization is administering the highest quality of care to the most vulnerable of populations.

Prenatal and Maternal Mental Health

Agencies who specialize in pregnancy, infants, and young children, are often working with highly vulnerable people who need immediate and comprehensive support. To ensure the best outcomes, agency leaders know their staff need to use the most current evidenced-based and developmentally appropriate interventions. Whether you run a daycare, preschool, early childhood center, foster/adoption agency, or the department of human services, we can provide engaging and dynamic training on best practices that foster healthy prenatal care, maternal wellness, parent-child attachment, and proper child development.

Our training also includes best practices for detecting and treating post-partum depression, supporting maternal mental health, trauma-informed birthing practices, parent-child safe sleep practices, and the science of breastfeeding and its role in mother-child mental health.

Functional Nutrition

We offer comprehensive training that delves into the latest research and best practices in functional medicine and nutrition, demonstrating how these powerful approaches can effectively address a wide variety of mental health symptoms and disorders. What we teach is explicitly safe, evidence-based, and person-centered. Our programs provide in-depth discussions on the critical role of nutrition, the intricate gut-brain axis, the strategic use of supplementation and herbs, and the emerging therapeutic potential of psychedelics in promoting mental wellness and recovery.
